My Best of 2015

HAPPY 2016, GANG.

Now that the excitement slash alcoholism of New Year's and my birthday (turned 23 on January 2nd FYI so if you missed that feel free to chuck it in your diaries now for next year) has subsided I thought I'd take a look back through the posts I wrote in 2015 and pick a few favourites. The five-part Fresh Start Kickstart series I did over the last week of the year (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) was one of the things I'm most proud of, but having had a little look back there are definitely a fair few more worth mentioning. If I do say so myself. Which I obviously do. Gotta love a bit of me.

Personal Posts
Y'all know I'm all about the personal musings here on madz0rs dot com, and two of my favourites from the last year were Going Home and Easter Sunday Identity Crisis. I also like My Life Detox, which is one of the first posts I put up in 2015, which went hand in hand with this post on Sussy and my now-defunct website on how to conduct your own. I think at some point I'll move the posts I did on there over here, but for now that's where you'll find it. Another big one for obvious reasons is 25 By 25, and one of my resolutions for 2016 is to be at least half way through the list by the end of the year so once we have our new place I shall be printing that out and sticking it up to keep myself in check.

Life Advice
I seem to have found myself a nice little niche dishing out life advice and how to posts, and my top 3 from the last year were Taking Back Mondays because I love the concept, How To Wind Down because I love going to bed, and How To Be A Morning Person because I'm trying to also love waking up.

Patchwork Writing
This is a concept I came up with at the start of the year that to be honest I am still pretty solidly in love with. I wrote an entire post about the concept here, and although I only ended up posting a couple in 2015 I definitely want to do more of them this year. My favourite two were The End, The Middle and The Beginning, which was about me dealing with moving on from a breakup, and Liber Venezia, which I originally wrote as part of a uni assignment hence the slight overuse of language (see: hella pretentious vibe). One of my major goals for this year is to make more time for writing, like properly sitting down and writing creatively and the idea of continuing this concept as a project makes me v. excited, which is always a good sign.

Album Reviews
Taytay's 1989 (this was 2014 but I'm gonna chuck it in), Four by One Direction and Get Weird by Little Mix. I love album reviews because I feel like they're something I can do in a style that's quite specific to me, so they're something I might start doing more regularly. Let me know if there's anything you'd want me to chuck a listen. On a similar note (lma0) I also did this post about the Backstreet Boys which you can imagine is very close to my heart.

My Room
I would regard 2015 as the year I really got into the lifestyle side of things, especially interiors. Although I couldn't really do much because we were 1. renting and 2. moving overseas within the year, getting my new bedding at the start of the year was a bloody game changer, and I did put up a couple of other posts on my space like this one on my Room Details. I'm so excited to have a permanent home base and actually feel able to invest in things like art and furniture. I also love this post from February when I gave into man flu and attempted to turn my room into a hotel.

Travel
For a year when I wasn't intending to go anywhere I sure did manage a solid few travel posts. From this day trip down the Great Ocean Road, to Right This Second posts from Ireland, Bali, Nusa Lembongan and the car, I'm enjoying figuring out different ways to show you guys bits of where I've been. I also put up some travel-related tips in How To Feel Human While Travelling and a list of places I'd like to go in the form of My Travel Wishlist. Can't bloody wait to see where this side of things ends up going once I'm living in Europe.

So I think those are all my favourite posts of 2015! Considering I had about nine separate life crises over the course of the year I'd say I actually managed quite a solid amount of blogging. I'm happy with that. Reading through all of these has given me so much fresh inspiration and perspective on the direction I want to take things this year, and if there's anything you particularly liked from last year or wanted to see me do that I haven't yet tweet it to me @madz0rs or leave a comment here. Honestly writing makes me happier than almost anything, so thanks for reading, whether you're new or you've been here since 2013, and giving me someone to actually write for.

Many blessinz x0x0x0
