Ciao, Bella Firenze

Florence and I have a strange relationship. It's like I can sense there's something special there and I know one day I'll crack it, but for whatever reason I just haven't been able to yet. I've spent time there alone and really been able to get a sense of the city, and I've visited on day trips with my family and now with Alessia... every time I feel as though I get closer to finding whatever it is that's there for me, but not quite close enough. That being said, wherever Less and I go we're going to have a cracker of a time, and Florence was no exception.

The highlight of our day was without question taking the bus up to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the panoramic view of the city. I'd never done it before, and when I say it was breathtaking I do mean that literally. Anyone who knows either of us will confirm that it is rawther a tall order to render us speechless, but that view did the job. I have a theory that Florence is a city I would appreciate more in colder weather, and when I go back to test this theory I have some serious plans involving that view. Other highlights include a stunning clarinet rendition of Beauty & The Beast to which we were involuntarily treated during our leisurely lunch, and witnessing one of the most theatrical meltdowns I have personally ever seen, courtesy of a small boy sobbing over an iphone game.

You can watch a video I made of the entire affair here, and now I am going to leave you with a whooooole bunch of photos.
